Hayden Ferreira is the Principal Consultant at Q-Tech Consulting. His career has included senior and corporate executive roles in engineering and management in the energy sector. In addition to his Engineering degree, he earned an Executive Masters in Business Administration, and has lectured part-time in Production and Operations Management to International and Executive MBA students. He was one of a handful of local engineers to have pioneered the development of Trinidad’s Point Lisas petrochemical industry, introducing several of the engineering and managerial innovations that have become norms for the industry today. He has published several papers on aspects of plant and operations management.
As President of Grastaff Credit Union for several years, he initiated the widening of the membership bond from Fedchem, to include companies on the Point Lisas Estate. This courageous step has evolved into the VENTURE Credit Union we know today. He has also served on several private and state Boards, the most recent of which was as Chairman of Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), where he championed a new phase in the Institute’s evolution with a focus on Innovation, and the construction of the Center for Enterprise Development in Freeport.
Mr. Ferreira has the distinction of being among the fifty alumni members recognized in the inaugural Distinguished Campus Alumni Awards of the University of the West Indies. The award sought to highlight excellence in the careers of leading professionals and personalities who graduated from the U.W.I., St. Augustine Campus over its fifty-year history.
Mr. Ferreira serves as Chairman of both the Human Resource and Transformation Committees of the Board.
