Charles Percy was the Managing Director and CEO of Methanex Trinidad Limited, local subsidiary of Methanex Corporation – the world’s largest supplier of methanol to major international markets. He assumed this leadership position with effect from May 1, 2006.
His distinguished career spans over 25 years in Trinidad and Tobago’s Energy Sector, with leadership positions also at BP Trinidad and Tobago LLC and Hydro Agri Trinidad Ltd (now Yara Trinidad Ltd.).
He came to Methanex from bpTT where he was Vice President of Corporate Operations and member of the local leadership team. He served as President and a member of the Board of the Atlas Methanol Company – a joint venture of Methanex and BP. Mr. Percy also has a track record of success in leading cross-functional teams in project and strategic business management, organizational development, and industrial relations.
He has been an active member of the Credit Union movement for several years and has the distinction of leading a successful major merger of two credit unions to form VENTURE Credit Union where he also served as President up to 2017. Mr. Percy currently serves as Chairman of the Delinquency Committee.
On September 30, 2008 members of the South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce (STCIC) elected Charles Percy, former Vice President of Energy, as President of the Management Council for the 2008/09 term.
Mr. Percy, an old boy of Bishop’s High School, Tobago, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from The University of the West Indies (UWI) and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the UWI Institute of Business.
